I’m shocked I’ve never written a review for Lanescape in all these years. I witnessed the owners help craft the changes the City introduced that became the tip of the proverbial spear in the missing middle renaissance. Then I’ve relied on Lanescapes’ free Report service for almost all of my listings. It is by far the more detailed, easy to digest and attractive report you can get. And it’s free. But I’ve also engaged Lanescape for the design of own laneway home and they did not disappoint. They also are constantly improving. Now offering building/construction services. Controlling the quality through the process. I’ve seen the results. They are solid. I always recommend them. Always.

In 2024/25 we hired Lanescape Architecture and Construction to build a garden suite behind our family home. The Architecture division worked closely with us to design the house to meet our needs. When the designs were in and permits issued we made the decision to hire the construction side as well. This proved to be a great choice as Joe and his team worked throughout the winter to demolish, dig, erect and finish our beautiful home. Each group who worked on the foundation, framing, electrical, plumbing, roofing and cladding were exceptionally professional and knowledgeable. We had complete trust that the project was being completed as we hoped. They reported to us regularly on the progress and helped us to monitor budget. We very strongly recommend this construction crew.

Absolute excellence from start to finish! We could not be happier with Lanescape for building our Laneway house; from architecture through to construction, they are professional, intelligent and easy to work with. Craig and Matt were great during the design phase of the project, and Joe and Borna were amazing during construction. They worked quickly, efficiently and always available to talk and find solutions to the little things that came up. Our finished house is exactly what we wanted, and it was ON BUDGET and ON TIME (in fact, they finished earlier than expected!)

I started working with LaneScape to design a laneway suite in 2020. The property (and timing) presented specific challenges, so we hit several speed bumps along the way (including the pandemic and its multiple lock-downs, as well as the ensuing logistical challenges, drainage issues, and city-related hoops to jump through, which ended up pushing the project back a few times. Through it all, the good people at LaneScape were extremely supportive, resourceful, and routinely exceeded expectations in helping to find solutions to the various challenges we faced.

Once construction began, this same approach was evident. Though I was already relatively experienced with construction and renovations, I can honestly say that LaneScape Construction were highly organized and efficient, and overall communication was excellent. The project was planned to a very granular level of detail, so there were very few (if any) surprises throughout construction. The team was even able to find strong solutions to specific challenges the design of the suite presented, resulting in significant cost-savings.

In conclusion, I would wholeheartedly recommend LaneScape and LaneScape Construction to anyone considering a similar project. I believe the true measure of any operation’s worth is made evident in their ability to support the client, and continue to move the project forward when difficult challenges arise, and they’ve exceeded my expectations at every step.

To Whom it May Concern,

Lanescape Construction has been nothing but exceptional. My wife and I being health professionals, we knew little about the construction world and it left us a little nervous about building a Laneway Suite. However, Lanescape and its Construction team led by Joe have exceeded all our expectations. At the start of the design phase, Joe was already involved in the early meetings. We probably had so many questions but was met with detailed answers. The transition from design to construction was excellent.

The team is well organized and detailed orientated. One of the things we really love was how engaging the construction team was with us and felt that we were never out of the loop. Joe and Khadija would always let us know what the next step would be. Whether it was doing the foundation or putting the windows in, the process was so smooth and well organized. It was also great that the team at Lanescape Construction values what our priorities were, and budget was one of them. They were able to provide us with so many options to choose from without sacrificing quality and what we wanted in our laneway suite.

My wife and I are extremely happy with our decision to have our laneway suite built by Lanescape Construction. We are confident that your vision of a laneway suite will be put to reality by this team. I have no doubt that they will exceed your expectations.

They were responsive to our questions, showed us multiple options, and helped us to settle on a final design we were very happy with.
