The Junction Laneway Suite epitomizes playful and contemporary design in Toronto’s West End. The long-time owners of this property envisioned a laneway suite that would add value to their lot and provide a unique, separate living space. The proposed 1,120 square-foot design features two bedrooms at grade with a shared bath. A long clerestory window at head height allows the bedroom to maintain its privacy without compromising natural light. The second floor is reserved for an open concept living, kitchen, and dining space. A large sliding glass door leads out to a balcony situated off the laneway to maximize views of the surrounding neighbourhood. The exterior design focuses on creating texture using black metal cassette panels of various widths while touches of wood plank cladding warm the facade and pronounce the front and rear entry points.
The Junction Laneway Suite showcases urban comfort and innovative design, transforming underutilized spaces into personalized homes.
