Spacing Magazine, one of Toronto’s forefront publications on all things architecturally related to our great city, published an article about Toronto Laneways. John Lorinc highlights the obstacles associated with providing emergency service access to laneway suites and the relative impact on property eligibility.
While the article is a great read bringing a contentious issue to the forefront, one shall take this content with a grain of salt. In reviewing nearly 1,000 properties across our great city, Lanescape has found that majority of such lots can satisfy emergency access. There is still of course lots of work to do in expanding the policy, but we remain adamant that life safety on laneways is always paramount!
