This 1,000 square foot 1-bedroom 2-bath laneway suite will soon become a space for the homeowner. This project takes a unique approach of positioning the bedroom in the basement and living/kitchen on the upper level, allowing for the best views and sunlight in the most often used spaces. Entering off of the partially covered parking pad is a large office space with modest 2-piece bathroom and mechanical while a hallway provides access to the rear yard. A basement hosts the principal bedroom, ensuite, and closet storage. The upper floor contains floor-to-ceiling windows in living space facing the laneway while the kitchen is tucked underneath the angular roof. Corrugated metal clads the exterior alongside a mural on the laneway side. Orange accents on the entryways and dormer provide pops of colour.
The Bartlett Laneway Suite exemplifies how secondary dwellings can be tailored to meet the custom needs of the homeowner without compromising on function.
